Alpine skiing

For the ski racers it goes across the pond. At the start of the small North American tour, the men are guests for three races in Lake Louise/Canada. From Friday to Sunday, one downhill and two Super G’s are on the program. After the weather-related cancellations, these are the first location determinations for the speed riders in the World Cup.

It’s downhill instead of Super-G on Saturday in Lake Louise. Can Thomas Dreßen keep up with his comeback?

After the two slaloms in Levi, Finland, the women are still in demand in the technical disciplines and will compete in a giant slalom and a slalom in Killington (USA).

From Canada to the USA. Killington opens the North American races for women. Above all, ski icon Mikaela Shiffrin wants to show off in front of a home crowd.

ski jumping

After the start of the season at the first winter mat jumping in Wisla, the ski jumpers are now challenged in the Arctic Circle. The jumps of the second World Cup station take place in Kuusamo, Finland. There are two individual competitions on what was once the largest large hill in the world.

Will there be another Dawid Kubacki show like in Poland? And how are the DSV-Adler doing after the rather average first weekend?

Nordic combination

Start of the season also in Nordic Combined. In addition to jumping off the hill, the combined athletes also have to complete a cross-country run. In Finland, the “Ruka Tour” is about the first World Cup points in the World Cup winter.

At the start on Friday there is a Gundersen over 5 kilometers. This is followed by the regular Gundersen with a 10-kilometer cross-country race the day after. The end of the first weekend on Sunday is a mass start race, also over 10 kilometers.

bobsleigh

Start in the ice channel. The mono, two-man and four-man bobs are sweeping across the 2010 Olympic course. The first races of the new season will be held in Whistler, Canada. After the strong performances at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, the German team now wants to build on the successes again.

skeleton

The skeletons also tumble down the lanes headlong for the first time. Already on Thursday (November 24th, 2022) women and men with the two German 2022 Olympic champions Hannah Neise and Christopher Grotheer were fighting for the first podium places and World Cup points of this season. They are also at the start in Whistler/Canada.

Skeleton Olympic champion Hannah Neise has made a dream start to the new season.

figure skating

Before the big Grand Prix final in Turin, there is one last Grand Prix for the figure skaters. In Espoo, Finland, it’s all about perfect jumps and lots of grace. From a German point of view, the couple has registered Alisa Efimova and Ruben Blommaert for the competitions.

And what about biathlon?

Only the biathlon fans have to be patient a little longer. The skiers only go to the shooting range and the cross-country ski run the following week (November 29th to December 4th). In Kontiolahti (Finland) World Cup points will be fought for the first time this winter.

Men and women have to complete the full program at the same time. It starts with the supreme discipline individual, followed by the first relay race, as well as a sprint and the associated pursuit.
