The international ski jumping elite is already preparing for the new World Cup season. What dates are coming up? With which stars does the German team start? And what information is already available about the Four Hills Tournament? sport.de provides an overview.
The 2022/23 ski jumping season: these dates have already been set
The Ski Jumping Association FIS has not yet announced a final calendar. But for the men it should start on November 5, 2022 in Wisla, Poland. The fact that the Ski Jumping World Cup starts so early – in 2021/22 the Russian city of Nizhny Tagil on November 20th was the first stop – probably also has to do with the World Cup in Qatar (November 21st to December 18th). The association thus wants to be in less direct competition with the major event.
The women start the 2022/23 World Cup season on December 3rd in Lillehammer, Norway.
For the first time in Germany, the ski jumpers can be seen in Titisee-Neustadt. On December 9th and 10th the women will jump first, on December 10th and 11th it will be the men’s turn.

On January 4th the ski jumpers will stop in Innsbruck, Austria, on January 6th the final competition will take place in Bischofshofen. So nothing has changed in this framework compared to the last few years.

The 44-year-old was the head coach of the Polish team from 2019 to 2022. Together with Bernhard Metzler and Paul Winter, he supports national coach Stefan Horngacher.
The previous senior squad coaches Jens Deimel and Andreas Wank are taking on new positions in the DSV. As of May, Deimel will be in charge of the national base in Hinterzarten/Furtwangen as a base trainer. Wank takes over management of the C squad, replacing Tino Haase.
Another change: In addition to talent scout Martin Schmitt, Richard Freitag will also be involved in the D/C squad in the future.
After 14 years, Christian Bruder has ended his work as DSV and assistant coach of the national ski jumping team around Katharina Althaus. The A squad will continue to be coached by national coach Maximilian Mechler and assistant Thomas Juffinger.
