Ski jumper Selina Freitag also underpinned her medal ambitions for the World Cup in Ljubno in Slovenian in Slovenian. As on Saturday, the Germans flew to second place on Sunday, just behind series winner Nika Prevc.
Selina Freitag just has a run. Your jumps run like on the assembly line, by itself. No matter whether tailwind, upward, no wind. The Oberwiesenthaler always jumps far.
On Sunday (February 16, 2025), their jumps to 88.0 and 95.5 meters again reached a place on the podium. Again only Nika Prevc was better, the Slovenia celebrated a double victory in front of home fans and further expanded their leadership in the overall World Cup. Third, Lisa Eder (Austria) made it to the podium. “I wasn’t quite punctual. I don’t know how, but it works,” said Friday on ZDF.
Schmid experiences one Roller coaster ride
While Friday impresses with ease, the former high -flyer Katharina Schmid is more difficult. The Oberstdorf woman experiences an up and down. After a strong qualification (4th place), she wanted too much again in the competition and taxed herself. At 81.5 meters, the hopes for the long -awaited podium were already there after the first round. In the final, Schmid triumphed with 93 meters and pushed himself ahead from the seventh to fifth place.
Görlich again strong – Seyfarth with a dream set
Apart from the happy winners, Luisa Görlich had the widest laugh on his lips in the days of Ljubno. The Thuringian experienced a dream comeback a year after her cruciate ligament rupture. After 13th place on Saturday, Görlich put on again on Sunday: 84 and 84.5 meters meant twelve place at the end.
Juliane Seyfarth from WSC Ruhla achieved a dream jump in the final on Sunday. The Thuringian only landed at 86 meters – and jumped ten meters further than in the first round. The reward: Seyfarth climbed nine places and collected as 16 valuable World Cup points.
Wood out – Torazza stamps forward
Alvine Holz and Ljubno – this is not a success story so far. The late starter from WSV Bad Freienwalde – she has only been jumping for six years – was eliminated with 73.5 meters as on Saturday. The young Emely Torazza (SC Oberstdorf) jumped into the final, but missed the top 20 with 78 and 81 meters.
After falling shock – Norway dispensed
The Norwegians who did without Thea Minyan Björseth were not there. Björseth, who completed the last leap of the day as the leading one and fell heavily, is in the hospital. She injured her knee and elbows and is to be flown to Norway as quickly as possible, said the Norwegian association, who also explained that Björseth must definitely be operated on there.
Reisch does without Ljubno
Agnes Reisch, most recently the strongest German jumper, in addition to Selina Freitag, treated herself to a planned break. For “reasons of stress control” (German Ski Association), the 25-year-old waived the trip to Slovenia a week after her first World Cup podium.
