After the departure of speed skater Jutta Leerdam to Jumbo-Visma, Team Worldstream Corendon will stop for the time being. Due to the departure of Leerdam, the team sees no basis to continue.

Verweij, who was born in Alkmaar, is therefore not completely closing the door yet. “We don’t just want to be the next generation on the ice, but also outside it. And we want to take our responsibility in doing so. We also have to create the right conditions behind the scenes,” says Verweij.
It is not known what the 31-year-old Verweij will do himself. The four-time Olympic medalist failed to qualify for the Beijing Olympics last winter.
