Skater Dai Dai N’tab wins the first 500 meters at the NK sprint and falls at 1000 meters

A deception for Dai Dai N’tab after the first day at the NK sprint. The skater from Amsterdam won the 500 meters (34.90), but fell in the 1000 meters. He was disqualified after his fall and no longer stands a chance of a good classification.

“I’m okay actually, I think it could have been worse,” the 2018 national champion said NOS. “It just sucks, I’m in great shape.” Due to the crash of N’tab, the general classification is led by Tijmen Snel, Lennart Velema and Janno Botman from Andijk.

An annoying preparation for N’tab who flies to Beijing on Tuesday. He has been designated by the KNSB as a reserve for the Winter Games. Just like Beau Snellink, Melissa Wijfje and Merel Conijn.

Among the women, the best from North Holland is Naomi Verkerk from Nieuw-Vennep. After the first day she is in sixth place. The ranking is led by Ireen Wüst, Michelle de Jong and Marrit Fledderus.

Tomorrow the decision will be made at the NK all-round and the NK sprint.
