SK Avarosa crowns itself at Equal Esports Cup

SK Avarosa can crown itself with its first title in the final of the Equal Esports Cup. It was the first edition of the League of Legends tournament for female and non-binary people.

“It helped us a lot to go in with the attitude that we were the best team,” said Ida “Emprez” Pedersen from SK Avarosa in an interview with the German Press Agency after the final victory. “Overall we played really well together and it shows.”

SK Avarosa and BIG Chroma played their way to the semi-finals through four qualifiers. There the two teams moved confidently into the final with victories against Team BDS Valkyries and G2 Hel.

Since BIG clearly took first place in the qualifiers, the team from Berlin went into the final, which took place offline at the Equal Esports Festival in Cologne, as favorites. The first game looked good for BIG for a long time, but SK caught up and secured their opening win.

Game two was also hard fought, but SK prevailed again and was on the verge of match point. The team from Cologne converted it confidently – the SK Avarosa players were then able to celebrate with the 3D-printed trophy in front of their home crowd. In the game for third place, BDS narrowly prevailed against G2.
