“Sixth of Dutch tourists go to German or Belgian airports” | Abroad

Dutch people who go on holiday by plane more often choose an airport in Belgium or Germany. This is evident from data from travel organization Sunweb. With a departure from the airports of, among others, Brussels, Düsseldorf or Cologne-Bonn, travelers hope to avoid scenes such as at Schiphol, where there are often long lines.

According to the travel organization, at least one in six Dutch people makes use of the option to depart from a Belgian or German airport. Sunweb already noticed that Brussels Airport gained in popularity during the May holiday. Also for Sunweb itself, diverting to other airports is a way to avoid the crowds at Schiphol.

Sunweb Group flies from Belgian and German airports to various holiday destinations in Spain and Greece, among others. The travel organization also offers holidays from the Dutch airports of Schiphol, Eindhoven and Rotterdam.
