Six children’s and youth books have been nominated for the 35th Woutertje Pieterse Prize. The last nomination was announced on Saturday in the KRO-NCRV program De Taalstaat. It is for the book The Tunnel, by Anna Woltz. Which book wins can be heard on Saturday 2 April, in a special Children’s Language State.
The prize is for the best original Dutch children’s or youth book. The winner will receive a certificate and 15,000 euros. This time the jury is led by author Abdelkader Benali.
The other five nominees are: Terra Ultima, by Raoul Deleo & Noah J. Stern; Shadow of Toet, by Lida Dijkstra & Djenné Fila; Virus World, by Marc ter Horst & Wendy Panders; Untitled, by Erna Sassen & Martijn van der Linden; and The Girls, by Annet Schaap.
