Six arrested during a restless night out in Breda

Six people were arrested Friday night in the city center of Breda. The police speak of a restless and busy night out.

A 41-year-old Roosendaler and a 19-year-old from Antwerp were arrested for disturbing public order. Two men from Breda (aged 26 and 29) were arrested during a disturbance on Vismarktstraat after they threatened a police officer and his children.

Cop spat in face
An 18-year-old resident of Breda refused to show his ID. When he was arrested, he resisted vehemently. Among other things, he spat in the face of an officer and bit his right hand.

A 22-year-old resident of Breda was arrested after he sprayed a bottle of champagne over a sound system in a catering business.

Line
On the Reigerstraat, agents had to form a line after a large group of annoying walkers had been evicted from a catering business there.

“People who cannot behave, threaten and bite the police… People who ruin a safe night out in Breda… Together with the catering industry, we must show that there is no place for this behavior in Breda,” emphasizes Mayor Paul Depla on Twitter.
