In an emotional speech, Els Elzinga called on the suspects in the swimming pool murder to speak out about the 2012 murder of Jan Elzinga.
Elzinga’s partner at the time, Monique H. from Hollandscheveld, her brother Marcel from Nieuw-Roden and their mother Coby van der L. from Roden are suspected of having ordered the murder of Elzinga at the swimming pool in Marum.
This suspicion arose partly on the indication of a, as it turned out this morning, lying key witness who was convicted in 2013 for organizing the murder. The suspects deny anything to do with the murder, but Elzinga’s sister doesn’t believe they know anything about it. “You know more. Speak out so that me and my family can find peace. Why the hell did Jan have to die.”
Tomorrow, the Public Prosecution Service will formulate a sentence against the suspects.
