On Saturday, November 18, Sinterklaas will travel to the center of Zoetermeer. The program for the arrival and the following weeks has been announced. Read more below.

The Sinterklaas arrival in Zoetermeer promises to be a great celebration for young and old. Saint Nicholas and his Pieten go in a colorful procession through the old and new center of the city.

Sinterklaas arrival program 2023 in Zoetermeer

  • When: Saturday November 18, 2023
  • Duration: 10am – 4pm
  • 10 a.m.: Start of Sinterklaas’ arrival from Kruidvat Stadshart, straight through the shopping street towards the Markt, De Dobbe and Nicolaasplein
  • 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Support program and reception of Sinterklaas and the Pieten by the mayor on Nicolaasplein
  • 12.30 – 14.00: Continued arrival of Sinterklaas through the Dorpsstraat
  • 12.30 – 16.00: Games in the Dorpsstraat, such as a sack race, eating chocolate letters, throwing presents and a gingerbread race. Children can have their picture taken with Sinterklaas in the Ozosnel horse stable in Dorpsstraat.

Take a photo with Sinterklaas

On Saturday, November 26, you could encounter Santa Claus while shopping in the Stadshart between 12 noon and 2 p.m. The entire months of November and December are times when children can visit Sinterklaas and have their picture taken with him:

Putting on a shoe

Children can put their shoes on for free in various places in November and December:

  • Saturday, November 25, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
    Place your shoe at Bakkerij Pieterse, Dorpsstraat 31. The shoes can be picked up again on Wednesday, November 29 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
  • Sint Schoenenhuis in the Stadshart: dates and location to follow

Exodus of Sinterklaas

Usually we only celebrate the arrival of Sinterklaas, but this year there is also an exodus in Zoetermeer. This is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6 between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The location is not yet known.
