Leaks have occurred on water pipes in Monnickendam and Marken tonight. As a result, there is a major disturbance in the area, where the water pressure is very low and in many cases has even disappeared completely.
Het Zand, a street in Monnickendam, is completely flooded. At least one car has partly sunk into the ground there. According to PWN Water Supply Company, the leaks started around 6 p.m. In Monnickendam, Uitdam and Marken, the water pressure is poor or even completely gone.
PWN cannot yet say when the malfunction will be resolved. They recommend people who have problems with water pressure to check the website for disturbances keep an eye on.
Update: PWN announces at 8.20 pm that the leak has been found and that they are going to work on the repair. The problem is expected to be resolved this evening, or in the course of tomorrow morning.
In previous reports we spoke of hundreds of houses without water. This turns out to be incorrect. In Monnickendam, 11 households do not have running water. PWN brings them bottles of water.
