Meat Loaf is dead. The singer died at the age of 74. This was announced by his manager Michael Greene.
His wife and two daughters were on the side of Michael Lee Adays, as the singer was called. A cause of death was not initially known.
“It breaks our hearts to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away last night with his wife Deborah at his side,” he said on his Facebook page.
Meat Loaf had his first major film appearance in the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” in 1975, and he celebrated his greatest success in 1979 with “Bat out of Hell”. “I’d do anything for love (but I won’t do that)” was his last world hit in 1994.
His congenial songwriting partner Jim Steinman passed away in April 2021. Over the past year, Meat Loaf has been plagued by health problems and he collapsed on stage. The singer also became known to younger people through his dispute with Greta Thunberg – he questioned climate change.
