– He can shout his own music at home and his friends can come over. They cook at our place and spend time together, I then go to clean up the tracks, Irina laughs.
The younger child has toured along on concert trips and visited golf courses, skateparks and frisbee golf courses all over Finland without testing.
More than half of life
Irina likes to follow her children’s teenage years, although sometimes the turmoil of puberty takes over the family.
– I don’t really remember what my own teenage years were like. Sometimes the classic phrases that I myself said to my mother as a teenager come out of my own children’s mouths. Then I remember those moments from my youth.
– It’s really wonderful to see how the values and instructions taught to the children have reached their destination and can be seen between all the tantrums. I can only say that these will be really good, Irina continues sensitively.

The growing up of the children has given both Irina and her husband Henri freedom in their schedules, even though the couple’s time together seems to be on the cards.
– We don’t have any more time together than before, which is of course a shame. Henri bought a wooden boat a few years ago, which he has renovated. So maybe in retirement we will go fishing on a boat!

– Yes, I think I’m a few leagues behind here too! I don’t have an age crisis, but I realized that my own mother was only this age. My mother and I are 18 years apart in age, and she was only 48 years old like me now! Irina ponders.

From her own mother, Irina has wanted to teach her children reasonableness in spending money and the importance of close people.
– I want them to know that you can get help whenever you need it. Whatever the need for help, you can always ask and ask. No one is alone, Irina sums up gently.
Twenty years
As autumn approaches, the singer remembers his career achievements in a special way.

Irina celebrates her 20-year career with a concert hall tour starting in October. – When the first album came out, I dreamed of having a long career and having more than three hit songs. It’s wonderful to notice that there have been and have been able to make a nice career. Can’t complain, Irina sums up.
Irina would like to have a career for another 20 years. In addition to this, he would like to be able to perform his own production in an increasingly versatile manner in various concert venues.
– That’s why, for example, this concert hall tour is done in the meantime, so that I can also present the less frequently heard production to the public, he concludes.
