Singapore GP, live today: free practice 3 and classification with Alonso and Sainz live

Marc Gené (Ferrari): “We haven’t made big changes to the car because both drivers were happy. We shouldn’t have any problems getting to Q3. We’ll see how much Red Bull and Aston Martin have improved for today. We’ll work on the soft tires today.”

“It was worse than we expected today. We suffered with the balance of the car, we tried things in the second free practice session, some of which went well and others not, so we must urgently look for solutions,” said Verstappen.

“I think there are some interesting things we need to fix overnight, we haven’t been comfortable with certain parts of the rear of the car, especially in FP2. There are quite a few areas we need to look at to get the best possible setup, because qualifying here is very, very important,” stressed Checo Pérez.

RED BULL SUFFERS

With yesterday’s results, it is demonstrated that the Singapore GP is the one that least favors Red Bull so far in the championship. Both Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez suffered and assume that it will not be an easy task to reach the podium tomorrow. However, the Austrian team has had time to improve the conditions of the cars in recent hours. We will see if they are enough for the Dutchman, World Cup leader, to get closer to the top.

SAME SENSATIONS IN FREE 2

Carlos Sainz was the fastest (1.32.120) in Free Practice 2 in night conditions – the same conditions in which both today’s qualifying and tomorrow’s race will take place – with his teammate just 18 thousandths behind. Fernando Alonso was third, three tenths behind, while Verstappen could only finish eighth, seven tenths off the lead.

FERRARI, WITH VICTORY OPTIONS

The two Ferraris led the free practice this Friday. Charles Leclerc took the lead in FP1, followed by Carlos Sainz at 0.078. Behind him appeared Max Verstappen, more than a tenth behind his rivals. For his part, Fernando Alonso, with a new front wing, finished eighth in a session with a focus on the long runs.

This Sunday we could experience one of the most exciting races in recent months. The reason? The Red Bulls don’t quite work. At least yesterday, Friday, they showed that they were not at the same level as always and even placed themselves below Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes.

The third and final free practice session begins at 11:30. Later, at 3:00 p.m., the fight for pole will begin.
