Sinéad O’Connor died of natural causes: the coroner’s verdict

ANDra was found lifeless in her home at the age of 56 after a tormented life, causing some suspicion especially among her fans, but on Sinéad O’Connor’s death has been put to an end: according to the coroner, who in Anglo-Saxon countries is the public official who investigates cases of suspicious deaths, the Irish singer died of natural causes. This is her verdict.

It was July 26 when her body was found in a house in south London, the city to which she had moved, but at the time Scotland Yard had provided few details.

Investigators did not treat the death as “suspicious”, but the medical examiner ordered an autopsy on the artist’s body anyway. The results arrived only after six months, but they did not contradict the initial hypotheses of the coroners who had found no reason to consider O’Connor’s death suspicious.

The myth born in the 1980s

In the late 1980s and early 1990s the world met Sinéad O’Connor who became one of the most popular European singer-songwriters: the single Nothing Compares 2 U that Prince wrote to her, has remained one of the most famous songs of the nineties. O’ConnorHowever, she also became famous because she was among the first to speak publicly about her mental health, telling US TV host Oprah Winfrey in 2007 that he had struggled with thoughts of suicide and had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. A lifelong nonconformist, O’Connor was also known for some provocative behavior against the political and religious establishment and show business. One of her most famous was the one in which he tore up the photo of Pope John Paul II during an episode of the American television program Saturday Night Live, to call attention to allegations of sexual abuse by Catholic priests in Ireland.
