Simple trick improves WiFi signal on iPhone

Do you know that? The Internet on laptops, tablets and co. works great in the home WLAN network, but surfing on the iPhone is a test of patience. A simple trick can help. And if that doesn’t work either, TECHBOOK has a slightly unconventional method for you.

iPhone owners keep complaining about poor Wi-Fi reception, especially when they go online via their home Wi-Fi network. In the worst case, the reception there is so bad that you can only surf using mobile data. The agreed data volume in the mobile phone contract then melts away within a very short time. But what to do if all other devices get a stable signal without any problems, just not the iPhone? Our simple trick is not new, but if you don’t know it yet, you should definitely try it. It only takes a few seconds and finally gives you a better connection with iPhone.

The trick works with any iPhone with a reasonably recent iOS version. Only three steps are necessary:

Step 1: Open Control Center

Simply swipe up or down (depending on your iPhone) on the Home screen to open Control Center.

Step 2: Switch to airplane mode

A tap on the airplane icon in the top left is enough to disconnect all connections and put the device into airplane mode.

Step 3: Activate WiFi

In the last step, reactivate the WLAN by pressing the corresponding symbol. The iPhone will now automatically connect to the WLAN.

What are the consequences of this attitude?

In our test, this setting not only ensures better WiFi, but also makes it really usable in our editor’s home network from the iPhone. So the trick is currently indispensable. It is particularly interesting that you can still make calls. iPhones offer the possibility of WLAN telephony.

To do this, simply go to “Settings” -> “Cellular” -> “WLAN calls” and activate them.

Some mobile service providers may not be able to make emergency calls, for example. For example O2.

If the WLAN on the iPhone remains poor, rely on LAN!

If the trick doesn’t really work either, there is a less practical but very reliable alternative:

With a cheap adapter you can solve the WLAN problem. You can read how this works in the text linked above.
