Simon Sibma will also remain chairman of the Board of Directors of the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) for the next two years. This has been decided by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of Minister Schouten of Poverty Policy, Participation and Pensions. The renewed appointment officially takes effect on 1 April 2023. He will have been employed by the SVB by then for five years.
Sibma looks ahead: “I am delighted to be able to work for the SVB for another two years. I do this together with more than 4,200 enthusiastic colleagues who, day in and day out, ensure that citizens receive what they are entitled to. Whether it concerns AOW, child benefit, PGB or one of the other schemes that we implement. I want to continue to work in the years to come to realize our strategic ambitions. Think of reducing the non-use of schemes, modernizing our IT services, implementing customization and simplifying laws and regulations in collaboration with politicians.’
Minister Schouten is pleased with Sibma’s reappointment. “Simon is an experienced and passionate director and has an eye for people. And that is important because millions of Dutch people depend on the Social Insurance Bank for a large part of their income and therefore their social security. With his stay on, the SVB can continue on the course that has been set. I look forward to continuing our pleasant cooperation for the next two years.”
