Silver and bronze for German figure skating pairs

Success for German figure skating: Two German pairs won silver and bronze at the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf. Alisa Efimova and Ruben Blommaert from Oberstdorf won a silver medal with 186.17 points on their debut together.

In particular, they were able to convince stylistically, in the technical area, however, three elements were not entirely flawless. Close behind with 184.47 points were Berlin’s Annika Hocke and Robert Kunkel in third place. Both German couples have chances of medals at the next European Championships in January. Victory went to Canadians Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps with 192.74 points.

In the men’s category, Nikita Starostin, who is running for Dortmund, improved from twelfth to ninth place with a satisfactory freestyle. Canadian Keegan Messing was the winner. In ice dancing, the two best German couples had to withdraw due to injury or illness. The only German dance couple that started, Charise Matthaei and Max Liebers from Chemnitz, made their debut together after the rhythm dance and before the freestyle in tenth intermediate place.
