Siltronic and the Dutch company Cosine bundle their skills in the development of the new Newathena space telescope.
As both companies announced together, Siltronic will deliver high quality 300 mm silicon wafers, which Cosine processed to the latest X-ray optics called Silicon Pore Optics (SPO). This SPO technology is a decisive part of the revolutionary mirror system of Newathena and the central component of its X-ray optics.
The aim of the partnership is the provision of key technologies for the next generation of the High Energy Astrophysics of the ESA European Space Organization ESA.
According to the announcement, Cosine is worldwide in the development of space instruments. The company has its headquarters in the Netherlands and subsidiaries in Germany and Italy.
The Siltronic share temporarily lists 1.88 percent higher at 34.74 euros in Xetra trading.
