Sigrid Kaag’s television tear made it very difficult for Caroline Tensen last night. Due to the moist eyes of the competitor, One against 100 suddenly attracted much less attention.
The new season of College Tour, featuring the much-discussed tears of Sigrid Kaag, started last night with good viewing figures: 721 thousand people (17 percent market share) watched Twan Huys’ TV show. With that he scores much better than with the kick-off of the previous series with Usain Bolt (364 thousand viewers).
Caroline down
That nice score from NPO 2 – the channel attracted twice as many viewers than usual at that time thanks to College Tour – leads to a significant loss of viewers for Caroline Tensen and her RTL 4 show One against 100. “She is going down considerably,” writes Tina Nijkamp on her ratings juice channel.
She continues: “With competition from an extra long Studio Sport Eredivisie and College Tour, suddenly only 713 thousand people are watching, which is no less than 203 thousand viewers less than the previous two weeks (then 916 thousand).”
‘Doesn’t help either’
Is everything because of Sigrid Kaag? No, thinks Tina. “Maybe it doesn’t help that almost NEVER a candidate wins a lot of money on the show. The escapes are always exhausted and so it is suddenly over and out for about fifteen candidates. Would take a look at that and do something about it.”
She continues: “And since it suddenly contains all new categories, instead of easy or difficult questions, the program has also lost its charm: there is no line anymore. Finally: why new leader music? It now seems elevator-like, the recognizable tune is gone.”
Last Alberto
Then on to SBS 6: that channel attracted 361 thousand viewers (9 percent) with Million Dollar Island and 440 thousand viewers (12 percent) with Undercover in the Netherlands.
RTL Boulevard ratings expert Joost Maiburg writes: “The last Undercover in the Netherlands of this season scored moderately despite some extra attention due to summary proceedings and without competition from Even Tot Hier. After high scores for the first two episodes about the care farm in Groningen, the rest of the season remained below half a million.”
