Lhe hometown, half a century after his death, celebrates the great Renaissance artist with Signorelli 500. Master Luca da Cortona, painter of light and poems.
The exhibition highlights «the narrative power of the works and the ability he had to go beyond his contemporaries, becoming a beacon for the great Renaissance».
It brings together about thirty works, some exhibited in Italy for the first timehoused in important museums including the Calvarythe round The Virgin and Child with Saintsfreshly restored, the panels Birth And The Miracle of St. Nicholas and the polyptych of the church of Santa Lucia in Montepulciano Madonna and Child Enthroned.
The homage is completed Signorelli’s itineraries – in the city at the Diocesan Museum and in the church of San Niccolò – which invite you to places that preserve precious evidence of the artist’s work.
