The sign language media Gebärdenwelt reported on Signmark’s participation in the Dancing with the Stars program.
The participation of rap artist Signmark, i.e. Marko Vuoriheimo, in the Dancing with the Stars program has been quoted abroad. Vuoriheimo is the first deaf person in Finland to participate in the program.
Austrian sign language news website Gebärdenwelt interviewed Vuoriheimo and his dance teacher Anniina Koivuniemiä for participating in the program.
Among other things, Gebärdenwelt says that Vuoriheimo is already a favorite among viewers in Finland.
Vuoriheimo told the newspaper that he was surprised by his popularity. Vuoriheimo and Koivuniemi have twice been the best pair of the evening.
The dance couple told the magazine, among other things, about their training.
– On the dance floor, we communicate through dance! When we go through theory in the training hall, when Anniina teaches footwork or other things, we have a sign language interpreter with us, Vuoriheimo told the newspaper.
– Anniina has also learned a little sign language.
