Dress-for-less GmbH is the next company in the ailing Signa Group to file for bankruptcy.
The preliminary proceedings of the online outlet were registered with the responsible district court in Darmstadt on December 22nd, said managing director Jan Becker and the lawyer Jan Plathner from the law firm Brinkmann & Partner, who was appointed by the court as provisional insolvency administrator, in a letter to customers. The insolvency proceedings will open on March 1st.
At the beginning of 2020, Signa merged the outlet concepts Dress-for-less and Saks Off 5th after the Austrian conglomerate secured Dress-for-less in 2016. Previously, the company from Kelsterbach in Hesse, which was founded in 1999 by Mirco Schultis, had to file for bankruptcy for the first time. At this time, Plathner was already active as an insolvency administrator.
