Siegfried Jacobs is retiring after 31 years

The Textile Shoes Leather Goods Trade Association (BTE) will have to do without its Deputy General Manager Siegfried Jacobs in the future. Jacobs, who is also Managing Director of the Institute of German Textile Retailing (ITE GmbH), is retiring at the end of the year after 31 years with BTE, the industry organization said on Wednesday.

The association is losing “a profound expert in the fashion industry, who has always been committed to the concerns of retail and has repeatedly developed and promoted solutions to support companies in their diverse business processes and to help them improve their performance.” it in a message.

Jacobs had been a member of the management board of BTE since 1991 and managing director of ITE since 1993. He also held numerous other positions, including being a member of the board of directors and later the supervisory board of the LDT Nagold training center.

“Even in retirement, Siegfried Jacobs will continue to closely monitor the development of the fashion trade,” explained the BTE. “After all, he will continue to exercise his professorship at the University of Marburg for the time being and bring the students closer to the connections between theory and practice in the textile and fashion industry.”
