showbizA few days ago it became known that Nadège Coffinet, the ex-housekeeper of the Meilandjes, is seriously ill. In an interview with ‘Privé’, Nadège told that she has colon cancer. In the days that followed, the former housekeeper of the Meiland family was inundated with messages. Her ex-boss Erica Meiland also contacted her.
“I have colon cancer. And when you hear that, it’s quite a shock,” says Nadège this week in ‘Privé’. In addition, it appears that not only Nadège is shocked by the news. The news also hit many Dutch people, who are very fond of the ex-housekeeper of the Meilandjes. In recent days, Nadège has received countless messages, even from her former boss Erica Meiland.
“She encouraged me and told me to be strong. Tears welled up in my eyes. So sweet that she does this, it really touches me”, Nadège tells in ‘De Telegraaf’. She continues: “This makes me feel like I’m not alone. I have very fond memories of the family. In these times I think about that more and more. All those beautiful messages on social media also touch me.”
More bad news
The ex-housekeeper of the Meilandjes remains positive, but Nadège received bad news again this week. In ‘Private’, Nadège said that her doctors were still figuring everything out at the moment. In the meantime, however, she was told that the cancer cells have spread, so she needs urgent treatment.
“I got a call from the oncologist. The situation is so serious that they do not want to wait for the investigation scheduled for April. The disease is in a large part of my gut. That was a huge shock to hear. It was decided to postpone the operation and to fight the cancer in the colon with a daily course of chemotherapy. That will take two months,” says Nadège in ‘De Telegraaf’. Afterwards, the operation has to be rescheduled, but in the hospital they are hopeful. “They have good experiences there with these treatments, they say. In general, they turn out well. That’s what I’m pinning my hopes on.”
