It caused Jannick to have to go to the hospital several times recently. “I didn’t like that very much,” Jannick reflects. Tamara: “He has actually had a lot to choose from since birth. So he really deserves this.”
Hemophilia is a hereditary disease. “I was raised with it, my brother also has it,” says Tamara. “So I don’t know any different. But it was completely new to my husband, so he found it scary at first.” Jannick also has a sister, Naomi, who also has hemophilia. But with her it is a little less intense.
Wensstichting Drenthe provided this unforgettable day for Jannick, together with the FC Emmen Noaberschap Foundation. The Wish Foundation grants wishes for children between the ages of four and seventeen who could use a helping hand. “Just a day of relaxation, a nice getaway, no worries, that is actually the most important reason for us to organize this for families,” says Ria van der Aa, volunteer at Wensstichting Drenthe. “We’re also going to Wildlands today, even though Jannick doesn’t know that yet. And we’ll end up at the pizzeria.” And Jannick? She beams from ear to ear all day long.
