Shownieuws has a new decor for the umpteenth time. The biggest changes: they no longer sit in front of a huge green screen and their stools have been exchanged for chairs. “Very nice.”
We have been working on it for almost a month: the new decor of Shownieuws. The first broadcast was last night: the stars of the program are now sitting at a table in a regular studio. For this they sat in a studio that was completely green, because you can ‘project’ a virtual decor onto it. John de Mol thought it was a nice chat.
‘Very nice’
This is less so for the experts in the studio, because they only see green walls and, for example, no photos of the topics they talk about. Only the viewer at home saw that. And now they are sitting in a traditional setting at a kind of talk show table instead of on stools behind a desk.
Tooske Ragas opened last night’s broadcast with: “Before we go to Maxime, we can open our new decor, people. Are you happy?”
Colleague Bart Ettekoven: “Yes, very bad. I think it is beautiful.”
Patty stays
Tooske then says to the rest: “Are you comfortable, boys? Does it feel any good?”
Patty Brard is enthusiastic. “Yes, I’m sitting here wonderfully, but I’m part of the furniture. That’s the only piece you didn’t throw away, it’s right here. Hahahaha.”
Bart: “It’s funny, because we went to take a look today, because the program started in 1996. If you look over the years at how many different sets there have been… So we went looking for all those old fragments and it was almost impossible to ignore Patty. It pops up everywhere!”
All variations
When all the different decors have been passed by, Bart comments: “We have had all the variations. Lined up, facing each other…”
Patty with a wink to herself: “The plus size.”
Bart: “Yes, Patty in all shapes and sizes!”
Patty: “This is a relief. We have a lovely table and we finally have nice light on our own heads again. Not in that green fishbowl. I find it a lot of fun and in the end it’s all about the content, right?”
Light on your face
Although the shape is also important for Patty. She loves the new studio lights. “You know what I also find annoying? So if you apparently understand that and you know how you look best and you know what you want, then you suddenly become the difficult diva who knows exactly what she wants.”
She concludes: “I just know that I don’t look good unless the light is full on my face!”
