Shower oils in the test: the top six

Forget traditional soap and try a shower oil – you’ll notice a difference.

The skin is known to be the largest human organ and should be taken care of. It doesn’t matter how the skin of the body is treated and many get into the same trap for the body as it is on the face: over-washing can damage the skin for a long time.

Traditional soap may sound exactly what the skin of the body needs, as it peels off the skin and carries with it dead skin cells, dirt and oil. However, daily intensive washing may damage the skin’s own protective layer. The result can be dry, itchy and even cracked skin. Eczema, acne and rosacea may appear on the skin, not to mention patchy skin.

That is why we recommend replacing the traditional soap or shower gel with a more skin-friendly shower oil or washing liquid. Washing with oil or an oil-rich liquid does not interfere with the skin’s own protective layer, while soap may remove all natural oil from the skin’s surface. A water wash alone may be enough to remove dirt from the skin.

Admittedly, oils bring their own challenges to the shower journey, as they can accumulate on the bathroom floor and make it skull-like slippery. After cleaning the oil, it is advisable to wipe the bath floor clean of slippery detergents and finally dry it thoroughly.

We tested six detergents that have found their place in our bathrooms:

I take a shower every day, sometimes for workouts or a run. Natusan Johnson’s Top to Toe wash has remained in use since the child’s baby time. This is such a gentle soap that it does not dry out the skin even in winter. The plus comes from the pleasant and mild scent. And there’s no harm in having the soap conveniently grab into the cart at a convenience store. It can be found in almost every small market. 3.39 e, K-food.

Evolven Super Berry bath and shower oil is an effective cleansing product that makes the skin wonderfully clean and soft. The anhydrous composition of the product makes it perfect for the cold months, which are otherwise harsh on the skin. Initially, it slides on the skin as an oil until it becomes milky upon contact with water. 27.20 e (norm. 32 e), Skincity.

The pharmacy brand Acon Caring Shower Oil has been our shower oil favorite for years. The product foams lightly like soap without drying the skin. Despite its washability, this restores the skin’s own fat balance. The pH of the product is 4 and therefore it does not damage the acidic protective wall of the skin. 12.10 e, University online pharmacy.

Dermosil Oat Shower Cream smells so pleasant that it just seems to pamper the skin. The product also works and does not dry out the skin, but cleanses gently. This bottle is really plentiful. 7.00 e, Dermosil.

Weleda Almond Shower Cream is suitable for those who want to reduce their own chemical load, as it is a natural cosmetic. The organic almond oil contained in this cream is also suitable for sensitive and irritated skin. The advantage of a beautiful and handy jar: this is easy to use in the shower every day. 11.95 e, Grass root.

Nivea shower oil is a classic in the bathroom. Here is a pleasant scent and a soft feel. The oily texture turns wonderfully creamy on the skin. After that, the skin doesn’t even feel like the cream. The product contains 55 percent oil. 2.99 e, Rusta.
