Show jumper Christian Ahlmann missed out on overall victory at the Global Champions Tour. At the final stop in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh on Saturday, Ahlmann only finished 20th in the saddle of Dominator.

Third place was enough for the rider from Marl in the final ranking of the tour. Victory went to Britain’s Ben Maher ahead of Belgium’s Pieter Devos. For Maher it was the third overall victory on the Global Champions Tour after 2018 and 2019. This season he achieved success without having won any of the competitions.

The tournament in Riyadh was won by the Irishman Michael Pender on Calais in a jump-off ahead of the Dutchman Harrie Smolders with Monaco and Jur Vrieling on Long John Silver. The best German was the giant Becker Philipp Weishaupt, who finished fifth with Coby.
