Should annual inflation be overturned? Compared to last month, life has again become (very slightly) cheaper

A shopping cart has become a lot more expensive in the past year. Inflation reached an unprecedented peak at the end of last year. Nevertheless, prices have been falling very slightly for the past two months. Economist Jan Eeckhout therefore advocates switching to a system of weighted monthly inflation instead of annual inflation, in order to be able to react more quickly. That writes ‘De Standaard’.
