In the center of Zaandam, a shot was fired near the Primark around ten past eight in the evening. Shortly afterwards, the police arrested a suspect at the station. As far as is known, there have been no casualties.
One shot was fired at Ankersmidplein, a police spokesman said. An object was also found at the station that could be the weapon in question.
Part of the platform is currently closed off and the police are conducting further investigations. As far as the police know, no injuries were reported.
