Shot fired in violent robbery where bicycles were captured

During the robbery on Tuesday evening in Roosendaal in which three boys were robbed of two bicycles, one of the robbers fired a shot. This was reported by the police on Wednesday morning. An extensive search for the perpetrators turned up nothing on Tuesday evening.

The three victims, aged about sixteen, were standing on Tuesday evening around half past eight at the intersection of Professor Aalbersestraat with Van Beethovenlaan in Roosendaal when they were approached by two boys aged 17 to 18. The two wanted their phones. When the three refused to hand them over, one of the robbers took a firearm from his pocket. He then fired a shot when one of the boys tried to flee.

The police say that no one was hit, but that the robbers did take advantage of this moment to take two bicycles, one of which is electric, from the boys and make off. In the meantime, the two had also captured a few airpods from one of the victims.
