Missile hits cop
In the meantime, the policeman who was seriously injured by fireworks on New Year’s Eve has been released from the hospital. A rocket hit him under the visor of his helmet on Wutzkyallee (Gropiusstadt). He was taken to hospital with severe burns to his face and neck. Apparently he will forever bear the marks of the attack on his face.
An angry Kevin Hönicke (38, SPD), Deputy Mayor in Lichtenberg, tweeted: “I just heard from a police officer who suffered serious injuries to his face during a New Year’s Eve attack and will now suffer from it for the rest of his life. It makes me so pissed off and simply agenda is not possible!”
