A 31-year-old man bit two officers on Monday morning when he was caught shoplifting. The suspect wanted to steal groceries with a value of 15 euros from a supermarket on Van Beethovenlaan in Roosendaal.
Around a quarter past nine in the morning, shop staff caught the 31-year-old man. Two policemen, who happened to be in the supermarket, came to the rescue. During the arrest, the man resisted violently and a struggle ensued.
During that collision, the shoplifter bit the two officers. Several police officers eventually came to the rescue to take the man to the station.
He is suspected of theft, resisting an arrest and assault.
