Shooting targeted two men in car, shooter may have had help

According to the police, the shots fired at two men sitting in a car on Druivenstraat in Breda on Tuesday afternoon were a targeted action. The shooter had probably been there for a long time and may have had help from accomplices, the police reported after an investigation. “Everything indicates that he really targeted the occupants of the car,” the spokesperson said.

The police received several reports on Tuesday around ten past two that shots had been fired at the car. It was parked at a gym in Druivenstraat. One of the bullets had ricocheted and landed in the building. The shooter did not target this gym.

“We really think that he shot at the car and that the hole in the gym was not the intention,” the police spokesperson said. The car, an Audi with Polish license plate, had four bullet holes. The two men in the car were not injured.

The investigation showed that the shooter had probably been posting for a long time before he fired. He then fled across the industrial estate towards Oosterhoutseweg and Teteringsedijk.

Henchmen
The escape route was checked with a sniffer dog and the police had cordoned off the area, but the perpetrator was not found on Tuesday. “We take into account that he had accomplices who dropped him off in a car and picked him up somewhere after shooting.” It concerns a young man. He wore gray sweatpants with striking black zippers, a dark blue jacket, black sweater and light-colored cap.
