Shoemaker Matyn in Roeselare stops after no less than 400 years. Twelve successive generations passed on the shoe cloths from father to son, but Eddy is the very last. He has two daughters, but they don’t feel called to continue the family tradition. “It hurts, but yes, it is now”, says Eddy. “I can’t change it.”
