Shortly before the break, Joshua Kimmich suddenly lay on the ground and grimaced. However, with the restart the fans could breathe a sigh of relief.
There was a brief moment of shock in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 between FC Bayern and Lazio on Wednesday evening. National player Joshua Kimmich remained on the ground after a counterattack by the Italians, holding his ankle.
Shortly afterwards the game was whistled and the teams went into the dressing rooms – except for Kimmich. DAZN went to commercial break. But the professional still remained on the ground and team doctors ran onto the pitch and treated him.
Kimmich was then able to get up himself, but limped into the dressing room. After the restart, the midfielder was back on the pitch and was able to continue playing.
