The U.S. baseball series MLB match between the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners was interrupted in a confusing way.
Angelsin Andrew Wantz deliberately threw the ball towards Mariners Jesse Winkeralthough there was no permission to feed.
This is what broke out fierce mass fighting. Winker bounced off Angels and the coach of the opposing team Phil Nevinille. Nevin changed the original feeder, ie Jose Suarezin at the last minute to Wantz.
After the game, Nevin denied the order to throw Winker.
– Not true. But I don’t want to go into this war of words. What has been done has been done, and we are already focusing on the future, Nevin comments.
Sanctions
Nevin, however, received ten matches for the ban. Winker, who went on a revenge trip and waved his middle fingers to the audience, was banned from playing for seven matches.
Wantz, who completed the throw, was banned from playing in three matches. In addition to the above-mentioned games, bans were distributed to as many as nine players. These were banned from playing in 2 to 5 matches.
In the mass battle, the exchange benches of both teams were emptied and the members of the Angels and Mariners exchanged strikes. In addition to Winker’s middle finger episode, potato chips and other snacks were thrown into the field from the Angels side, among other things.
The match was suspended due to incident for 18 minutes.
