Shishmaref disappears into the sea, yet people continue to live there

The water rises, the island gets smaller. A move for the 600 residents of Shishmaref in the US state of Alaska seems inevitable due to climate change. They also voted twice for a move. But it remains: too expensive. In addition, the residents fear that the traditions and customs of the Inupiaq, a tribe of the Inuit, will be lost. And so they continue to live there for the time being, despite the threat of rising water.
