Shima Kaes and lawyer refuse talk shows: ‘Only after criminal case’

Shima Kaes and her lawyer are currently not planning to act on a talk show. That will only be discussed after a possible criminal case against Johnny de Mol, says lawyer Karim Aachboun.

Johnny de Mol and his counsel Peter Plasman defended themselves extensively on television this week against the leaked declaration of Shima Kaes. The presenter had his say in HLF8, his lawyer chose to perform at Op1. There is no response from the opposing party.

Not at Jinek

According to Shima’s lawyer Karim Aachboun, it is not appropriate to make all kinds of media appearances now. So we will not see her in a talk show on television, such as Op1 or Jinek. “The client will only join a talk show together with the undersigned as soon as the legal system has ruled on the fate of Johnny de Mol.”

The team behind Johnny, including John van den Heuvel, claims that Shima has leaked her declaration to HP/DeTijd. Her lawyer Karim denies that. “We have never leaked information to the media about the report against Johnny de Mol for aggravated assault and attempted manslaughter.”

Trial by media

Johnny’s comment that he does not want a ‘trial by media’ is, according to Karim, quite hypocritical. “The public can now determine for themselves that it is Johnny de Mol, as a descendant of the most powerful media family in the Netherlands, who engages in ‘trial by media’ and ‘victim blaming’”, said the lawyer, who speaks of hypocrisy.

Johan Derksen has called Shima a ‘borderliner’ ever since he was called to account by the Talpa management. According to Karim, it is evident that De Mol ‘uses his platform to spread untruths about the client and the undersigned’. “It is not true that my client is borderline.”

Failing Plasman

The performance of Johnny’s lawyer Peter Plasman at Op1 was embarrassingly bad, according to the men of VI. Peter specifically refused to say that Johnny is innocent. “I think such a man is quite busy during the day. If you sit there in the evening… He wasn’t sharp”, says René van der Gijp.

Wilfred Genee: “Peter Plasman wasn’t sharp, no.”

René: “He was really bad, you know. Normally I can listen to him, but he also had the bad luck: Charles was really sharp. He really went off like a watering can, that Plasman.”

Wilfred: “I had the impression that this did not do things well for Johnny.”

Johan Derksen didn’t like Peter either. “No, he just wasn’t sharp. That man who was exhausted.”

Table guest Roos Schlikker got ‘slightly crooked toes’ from it. “If a lawyer is going to say, ‘I wasn’t there myself, I can’t know.’ Yes, of course that applies to almost all crimes. We’ve had that happen more often. That doesn’t seem like a very strong story to me.”
