‘She’s just really annoying’

Halina Reijn does not have to count on an apology from Rob Goossens, who has said that he ‘hates’ the star actress. “I shouldn’t have used that word, but I don’t regret it.”

It hit Halina Reijn quite hard: she was completely put through the cracks by RTL Boulevard expert Rob Goossens, who even said that he ‘hate’ her. “Words have power and come in,” said the hard-hit actress. She received support from Janine Abbring, who denounces Rob’s ‘muck-raking’.

Irritation Factor

Hasn’t Rob just gone a bit too far by saying he hates Halina? He is summoned by an angry presenter of NPO Radio 1. “The word hate is taken very literally and I really shouldn’t have used it, because I don’t hate her so much, but she is just very high in my irritation factor,” responds the TV connoisseur.

Precisely because Rob is so annoyed by Halina, his scathing words have just slipped out. “I can get annoyed too quickly by things that are irrelevant and Halina Reijn is one of them.”

No excuses

Rob doesn’t want to say sorry to Halina. “No, I don’t regret it.”

He has not contacted her at all. “I’ve said something about my annoyance to a certain person, but it’s not personal. I haven’t bodyshamed her or I don’t know what.”

Is a hate statement less bad? “Well, there are so many people who shout on Twitter every day that they hate me. If that keeps you awake, then you really should look for another profession.”

Halina also needs to be able to take the cash a bit, says Rob. “My annoyance for her was already budding when at one point she told in a column about a manatee at the airport. That was really disrespectful to someone who hadn’t asked for spotlights in any way.”

He continues: “Halina Reijn asks for spotlights and that also means that you may not be completely happy from a media reporter that you can get over you from time to time.”

Three milliseconds

How long has Rob thought about his hate tweet? “Well, three milliseconds? I trust myself well enough to know: okay, the chance that I send something and that I am really awake at night because maybe I should have phrased it differently, might not be that great.”

“Of course there are times when I think: oh, there’s another spelling mistake here, or here it says ‘hate’ where I should have used ‘annoyance’, but those are things… You know, those imperfections are also part of the to live.”
