It starts to become a bit of a standard topic when presenter Roos Moggré joins us: her beloved Donatello Piras. She sat at the table with Marcel & Gijs last Wednesday, he at Jinek at the same time. We now know that she has an Italian love partner, sighs media critic Victor Vlam.

Donatello before and after

Victor is starting to get a little annoyed with Roos, he confesses in the podcast The Communicados. “Zit is really often in talk shows. And if you know one thing about Roos Moggré, it’s that she has an Italian husband by the name of Donatello. And she really just talks about that non-stop. That just doesn’t stop.”

He continues: “That started years ago at De Wereld Draait Door, that she often talked about him. She also sat with Jinek to talk about him. She has spoken to Khalid and Sophie about him. She talked about him at Media Inside. And last week at Marcel and Gijs, she also spoke extensively about him.”

‘Screaming mad!’

You know more than you want about those two, says Victor. “I know he has a big Italian family. He likes pizza very clichéd. They also had a big Italian wedding. They met when he was training her in preparation for a party leader debate of the Youth News.”

To his co-host: “I feel like I know more about their relationship than I do about your relationship with your wife, Lars. I feel like I hear so much about that man. At a certain point I also have something like: stop talking about your husband. It just drives me crazy at some point.”

Adorable and cute

Co-host Lars Duursma has doubts. “Well, we both happen to know him a bit. I’m also like, isn’t it just cute and cute this? You also have those people who have been in a relationship for 15 years and are still talking down the street, so to speak. Isn’t it nice that people stay so in love with each other?”

Victor: “Yes, I think it’s all wonderful. I really honestly think when it comes to breaking up sometime – I hope not – I really think I’m just broken up about that for three weeks because I’m so emotionally invested in that relationship.”

Surprise is gone

Victor is more concerned with the professional aspect, namely that she is too repetitive on TV. “You have to stay innovative. It has to stay fresh. It must continue to surprise. And at a certain point: I was really fed up with stories about Donatello.”

“At Marcel & Gijs there were also plenty of photos ready, so every time they mentioned him, there was a new photo in the picture. Something new! Roos Moggré needs something new, otherwise it will just get boring. That’s just the fate of a talk show guest. In the end, you have to keep coming up with new things to stay interesting.”
