The Netherlands may shiver from time to time, but it still has enough gas this winter. “But next year it will be more difficult,” says Marjan van Loon, director of Shell Netherlands. All gas imports from Russia will then cease. One thing is certain: Shell will no longer be pumping up a cubic meter of gas in Groningen. “We don’t want to take that responsibility anymore. It is now up to the government.”
