Shearer takes old wit on Kane rumors

The possible transfer of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to FC Bayern is currently one of the hottest rumors on the transfer market. Premier League icon Alan Shearer has now commented on the speculation about Munich’s desired striker and commented on the whole thing (among other things) with an old joke.

Whether Harry Kane really moves to Bayern is still open. The only thing that is clear is that Munich has already made an offer for the Spurs super striker and that he can well imagine a transfer. Currently there are new water level reports almost every hour.

Regardless of this, Kane’s compatriot Alan Shearer has now commented extensively on “The Athletic” about the future options of the 29-year-old and made it clear that he could not say what he would have done in his place. He also doesn’t want to give advice to England’s best attacker, because he doesn’t like it at all when ex-professionals do it.

However, the Premier League record scorer came up with a humorous way of commenting on the Causa Kane: “My second thought was an old joke,” Shearer told the portal. “‘If Harry wants to go to Bayern, I’ll drive his damn car there myself’; I would do anything to protect my Premier League goal record of 260 goals – Harry has 213,” said the 52-year-old with one big pinch of humor.

“In truth, the hopes are probably in vain. Harry is almost 30 but he’s taking care of himself, he’s stayed away from major injuries and he’s quite capable of returning to England in a few years and scoring enough goals to overtake me even then,” calculated the former top striker of Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, only to add mischievously: “But still. Give me the keys and a GPS and I’ll drive…!”
