It was a real drama for Eva Jinek at the beginning of last year: her broadcast from the Friends of Amstel Live concert was a record low with 345 thousand viewers. “Jeez, nobody watches Jinek anymore?”, a shocked viewer wondered. A reporter from RTL Boulevard called the broadcast ‘boring and predictable’.
Unhappy
Eva can breathe a sigh of relief, because this year she no longer has to make that sponsored broadcast. RTL 4 chooses to broadcast live at the Saturday concert tomorrow evening, and colleague Renze Klamer always has a broadcast on this day.
A stroke of luck for Eva, TV connoisseur Rob Goossens tweets. “I was already very curious how RTL4 would collaborate with Friends of Amstel Live this year, because Eva Jinek seemed very unhappy there last year. But the solution is very simple: not on Friday but on Saturday evening live on location, because that is when Renze presents.”
Setback
Eva can use that windfall, because she started the new season of her talk show this week with a setback. Main guest Claudia de Breij did not show up in the season opener. Officially because she was sick, but evil tongues claim she didn’t feel like it because of the many criticisms of her New Year’s Eve conference.
