Dolly Parton has not only been a dazzling icon of the Country & Western scene since her 1967 debut album with the straightforward title “Hello, I am Dolly”.
Through the umbrella organization “Dollywood Company”, the 76-year-old is also co-owner of “Dollywood Parks & Resorts”, the amusement park group “Dollywood Theme Parks”, plus “Dollywood’s Splash Country”, “Dollywood Cabins” and finally the Wellness chain “Dollywood’s Dream More Resort & Spa”. The US business magazine Forbes estimated the value of their company at around 350 million dollars in 2021.
Now the singing businesswoman (“Jolene”, “I will always love you”) is also getting into the dog accessory business. The news channel CNN and other US media report that these are cute designed dog clothes and toys. If you have a feeling for what dog fans want, it’s a huge market.
Exceptional in Parton’s portfolio, however, are hairpieces and headdresses for the animals, including a “blonde diva wig,” a “pink cowgirl hat with a tiara,” a “two-piece collar and leash set with a gingham western pattern,” and many other style items in the distinctive southern look.
Dolly Parton wouldn’t be Dolly Parton if she didn’t have a musical derivation for her new business idea:
“Puppy Love” was my very first record and six decades later my love for pets is stronger than ever.” “It all inspired me to start my own line of ‘Doggy Parton’ clothing, accessories, toys and much more with a typical ‘Dolly’ flair. A portion of the proceeds benefit Willa B Farms, an animal shelter where animals in need find endless love. Don’t we all need that?”
