“I don’t give up that easily,” says the 81-year-old combatively…
For years, a bitter neighborhood dispute has been raging between Uckermark native Aurelia de S. (81) and her neighbor Roberto D. (49) in the village of Rutenberg (220 inhabitants) – in autumn it’s all about the leaves that fall from the trees.
The problem: Since both properties are lined with trees, it is often not entirely clear where the leaves that trickle onto the lawn come from.
And then the trouble starts. According to the police, Roberto D. poured the full bag of leaves from his leaf vacuum onto Aurelia de S.’s property on Friday afternoon. Just like that, behind the fence.
The woman, who has lived in the house since 1954, heard about it and wanted to confront her neighbors at the garden fence.
“I went and asked him to stop it. The leaves don’t belong on my property.”
Apparently, Roberto D. was not impressed – according to the police, he suddenly hit the elderly lady with the suction nozzle of the device.
But the resolute woman fought back – she parried the neighbor’s blows with her walker! “I won’t give up that easily,” she said on Tuesday.
The bizarre fencing duel between leaf blower and cane continued briefly: “I had to be careful not to crash,” said Aurelia de S.
Then her daughter came along. Roberto D. tried to push her away and let her mother go. But Laub-Rambo Roberto D. pushed the daughter, according to the police, she lost her balance and fell to the ground. Her mother said Tuesday, “She still has bruises.”
For mother and daughter one thing is clear: “Now it’s over with fun, what’s too much is too much. We’re filing a complaint.”
Police said: “All three involved suffered minor injuries. Criminal proceedings for dangerous bodily harm have been initiated against the 49-year-old.”
And what does Roberto D. say? BZ met him with the leaf blower in front of his property: “I make no statement about it.”
