Canadian singer Shawn Mendes, 23, canceled all shows on his tour. He reveals the reason for the decision on his Instagram account.
The singer’s career began when the cover songs she sang caught the manager’s attention by Andrew Getler attention in 2014. Mendes signed a record deal and rose to prominence as a teenager with his hit Stitches.
Mendes’ gig calendar shows that the gigs from July 29 onwards have been cancelled. According to the calendar, the singer would have performed in the United States, from where the tour would have continued until August next year and moved to Europe.
– Unfortunately, I have to cancel the rest of my gigs in North America and Europe. We were hopeful that I could have come back and played the shows after such a long time, but I have to put my health first, Mendes says in his Instagram post.
The artist describes that he was hopeful about his tour, but it turned out to be tougher than he thought.
– I started this tour excited to be able to play again after a long break, but in reality I was not prepared for how difficult it is to be on tour after all this time.
Señorita and There’s nothing holding me back -the performer of the songs wants to prioritize his own coping and maintaining his mental health. Therefore, he made a difficult decision regarding his tour.
– After talking more with my team and healthcare professionals, it became clear that I need to take time for myself. I haven’t taken it before and I want to find myself and come back stronger.

Before his final decision, Mendes already had time to take a break from his current tour. He only canceled some of the gigs when he found the touring life too tough. At the time, he was hopeful about future gigs.
The singer has been touring since she was 15 years old, and the hardest part for her has been being away from family and friends for long periods of time. Being in the public eye at a young age has therefore affected Mendes.
– After a break of a few years, I felt that I was ready for a tour. “But that decision was immature, and unfortunately the travel and the pressure has gotten to the point where I’ve reached my breaking point,” Mendes previously described when announcing his tour hiatus.
Now the singer decided once and for all about the fate of his tour. He describes the cancellation as breaking his heart, but promises to come back later when he’s ready.
Despite the cancellation of the tour, Mendes promises his fans that he will make new music and organize a new tour, as long as he is okay first. He hopes to see his fans at future concerts.
