Those who have been among the standard names of the Finnish men’s basketball team Susijeng for many years Shawn Huff and Petteri Koponen played at the club team level in their final match on Friday.

Helsinki Seagulls, represented by Huff and Koponen, defeated Kataja Basket in the Bronze League 84–54 match.

Huff threw 13 points in the bronze match and also collected seven rebounds. Koponen threw three points and took four rebounds. In addition, he gave three assists to the basket.

– We played mature and defended well. Okay, both teams got free throws in between. Maybe the loading of both was a bit in the semifinals. Now we get to the sauna and celebrate. There was a bit of a sad feeling, even though I have had time to think about this for a few years now, Koponen said in an interview with Ruudu.

However, Huff and Koponen cannot yet raise their legs to the table. The men are likely to be seen at the European Championships in the fall. The Susijengi will start their European Championship tournament on September 2 against Israel.

The final series of the basketball league will start on Monday. Kauhajoki’s Bear Basket and Salon Vilpas play for gold.
